# Retrieve a page

> Read the properties of one row or subpage.

Reads a row or subpage. For content, use [blocks](https://developers.bottari.ai/api-reference/blocks/children.md) or [Markdown](https://developers.bottari.ai/api-reference/pages/markdown.md).

A trashed row can still be read, and `in_trash` is `true`. The same goes for rows of a trashed database.

**Authorization** `string` *required*

`Bearer <token>`. See [Tokens](https://developers.bottari.ai/auth/tokens.md).

**Bottari-Version** `string`

Optional. Only `2026-03-11` is accepted. Without it, the current version is used. A different value returns 400.

**id** `string` *required*

The ID of a row or subpage.

**filter\_properties** `string[]`

Property names or IDs to include. An unknown property returns 400.

**id** `string`

The row ID.

**created\_time** `string`

Creation time, in UTC, truncated to the minute.

**last\_edited\_time** `string`

Last edit time, in UTC, truncated to the minute.

**created\_by** `object`

`{ "object": "user", "id": "..." }`.

**last\_edited\_by** `object`

`{ "object": "user", "id": "..." }`.

**in\_trash** `boolean`

`true` if it's in the trash.

**is\_archived** `boolean`

`true` if it's archived.

**is\_locked** `boolean`

`true` if it's locked.

**parent** `object`

`{ "type": "data_source_id", "data_source_id": "...", "database_id": "..." }` for a row, `{ "type": "page_id", "page_id": "..." }` for a subpage.

**icon** `object | null`

One of `emoji`, `icon`, `custom_emoji`, or `file`. `icon.name` is a Bottari icon name.

**cover** `object | null`

`external` or `file`. Gradient and solid covers are `null`.

**properties** `object`

Values keyed by property name. See [Property values](https://developers.bottari.ai/api-reference/property-values.md). A subpage only has `title`.

**url** `string | null`

The address that opens it in the app.

**public\_url** `null`

Always `null`.

## Errors

| Status | `code` | Cause |
| - | - | - |
| 400 | `validation_error` | An unknown `filter_properties` value. |
| 404 | `object_not_found` | The row doesn't exist, belongs to a database that isn't connected, or has its own access settings. Template rows and task agent instruction documents also return 404. |
